There are a few organizations out there that are meant to positively influence women in the entertainment and media industries. Mary Aloe personally affiliates herself with a few. Some of the organizations Mary Aloe is a member of is WEN, American Federation of Women in Television and Radio, and Women in Film.
Women in Film, WIF, is a great organization for any women wanting to work in the entertainment or media industry. Mary Aloe explains that WIF assists independent filmmakers, funds programs that provides scholarships and internships, contributes both financially and creatively to the production of PSAs that spotlight issues important to women, and create events that are meant to educate and creatively enlighten.
Mary Aloe would like to point out that WIF also has two signature events, Crystal+Lucy Awards and The Entertainment Forum, that they use as fund raisers to help benefit their members in a positive way. The Crystal+Lucy Awards honor women in film and television whose contribution to their individual fields of expertise warrants special recognition. The Entertainment Forum is a weekend of entertainment industry seminars, panels and networking opportunities.
A similar organization that Mary Aloe affiliates herself with is the American Federation of Women in Television and Radio. It is an organization that is meant to inspire women pursuing a career in either television or radio, or even both! Mary Aloe says that this organization is incredibly supportive and influential.
Mary Aloe also belongs to WEN, or Women's Entertainment Network. WEN is a network that broadcasts about women's interest, and supports women in the entertainment industry. Naturally Mary Aloe is a member of such an organization. Mary Aloe is proud to be a member of such an empowering organization.
